Project Background

Xapiens offers services and manages various IT systems and IT solutions for its clients. Enterprise Architecture (EA) is continuously changing, this means that any technological task executed should comply with it in that moment. Xapiens’ needs are to effectively manage the information and track changes made in near/real time. The inability to isolate issues / problems beyond their domains and into the specific Technology, Application or Data Architecture is creating hardship to grasp the impact on their EA and to make decisions that impact the business.

Project Aim

Students are required to develop a solution to effectively manage and successfully navigate the complexities in Xapiens existing EA. The aim is to have a stronger IT foundation and an enhanced alignment with the business goals. In addition, the project will improve the platform performance, eliminate duplications and effectively manage resources.

Project Outcomes

Students will be provided with a sample and an online testing environment to execute their solutions and justify their work. They will need to:

• Provide an analysis of the most suitable Technology Architecture Framework (e.g TOGAF, Zachman)
• Identify the tools to be used and backed-up by the framework
• Design the approach, incorporating the plan and the governance methodology to follow
• Provide documentation of Technology/App/Data Architecture with variants and detailed descriptions for the near/real time EA.

Project Background

The ITIL framework offers guidance and best practices for managing the five stages of the IT service lifecycle: service strategy, service design, service transition, service operation and continual service improvement. This project focuses on the “Service Operation” aspect and the configuration item (CI). Xapiens needs to avoid any configurations errors, violations, penalties, performance problems and security vulnerability caused by changes, undetected tasks or unauthorized data breaches. Hence, the requirement to document all configuration changes and to ensure it complies with the policies and regulations.

Project Aim

The project goal is to establish and maintain a service operations configuration, such as Configuration Management Database (CMDB) with ITIL framework. The scope of the project and area of focus is infrastructure and hardware configurations. By adapting the tools from the CMDB concept, IT staff will have a comprehensive visibility on the changes done, will allow them to effectively resolve problems and will optimise their resource management and decision-making.

Project Background

The companies use Datto Commerce software to receive client requests and to quote their services. The software tracks leads, quotations, sales and commission paid to staff based on sales. Unfortunately, the software is not equipped with a dashboard or ability to report data in a visual and friendly way.

The team would like to use Power BI as their interface dashboard and data visualisation software which will also assist them with calculating the commissions generated from sales.

Project Aim

The project is split into 2 stages:

• Stage 1 is to learn the different rules around calculating the commissions, then build the model on Power BI using a data sample extracted from Datto Commerce. The team will create the dashboard with the set of data visualisation required by all teams.
• Stage 2 is for students to use their programming skills to validate the data and find the most efficient Application Programming Interface (API) to extract the data from Datto Commerce into Power BI.

Project Background

The Integrated Data Management and Reporting System (IDMRS) aims to address the challenges faced in data management, reporting efficiency, and decision-making processes for program planning, monitoring, and evaluation. The project will focus on enhancing the existing IDEP database by implementing a comprehensive set of features to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting, while minimizing errors such as double entry.

The project will involve the development of a Program Dashboard, providing real-time updates and summaries of program achievements. This dashboard will serve as a central hub for stakeholders to monitor progress and make informed decisions based on the latest data. Additionally, the system will facilitate the production and retrieval of reports that include detailed information on the total number of beneficiaries, gender disaggregation, program outreach (including social media followers), and a visual representation of program coverage through maps.

Furthermore, the IDMRS will enable a comparison of program achievements against predefined targets, based on the Impact, Performance, and Planning Tool (IPPT) developed by the MEAL team. This feature will allow stakeholders to assess program performance and identify areas that require improvement.

To address the issue of data integrity, the system will enforce measures to ensure clean and clear data without the occurrence of double entry or other common mistakes. This will enhance the reliability and accuracy of the data, enabling more effective analysis and reporting.

By establishing the IDMRS, the project aims to significantly improve data management and reporting processes, providing stakeholders with timely and accurate information for evidence-based decision-making. This will contribute to more efficient program planning, monitoring, and evaluation, ultimately enhancing the overall impact and effectiveness of the organization's initiatives.

The User-Centric Website Enhancement project for IDEP and IDEP Training and Consultancy will focus on reviewing the overall website experience and implementing necessary improvements to ensure optimal functionality and user satisfaction.

The existing IDEP and IDEP Training and Consultancy websites require a comprehensive review of their user experience to address any usability issues and enhance overall user satisfaction. The current interface may not be user-friendly or aligned with the latest design trends. Thus, it is essential to implement improvements that cater to the needs and expectations of the website visitors.

Project Objectives:

1. User Experience Review: Conduct a thorough evaluation of the IDEP and IDEP Training and Consultancy websites to identify areas for improvement and address any usability issues that hinder a positive user experience.
2. Interface Enhancement: Develop a user-friendly and visually appealing interface that is aligned with current design trends. The aim is to create an engaging and modern website that captivates users' attention and encourages their active participation.

1. Updated Seeds Availability: The project is to develop a system that provides real-time updates on seed availability, enabling efficient planning and allocation of seeds for farming activities.
2. Minimum Stock Notification: The database includes a notification system that alerts personnel when seed stock levels reach a minimum threshold, preventing stockouts and enabling timely reordering for uninterrupted farming operations.
3. Significant Seed Purchases: The system tracks and analyzes significant seed purchases, offering insights for optimizing procurement strategies, identifying preferred suppliers, and enhancing inventory planning.

Additionally, it will utilize OpenAI's language model capabilities to enhance its conversational abilities. The chatbot will also be integrated with the platform developed by Formi, enabling seamless interaction with the startup's existing systems.

The aim of this project is to create an intelligent and versatile chatbot that can handle inquiries, provide assistance, and engage with users across multiple channels. By integrating with popular messaging platforms, the chatbot will enhance customer engagement and support for the health tech startup. Leveraging OpenAI's capabilities, the chatbot will be able to understand and respond to user queries effectively, providing a personalized and efficient user experience.
