Risk Management
We support you through our tried and tested processes
Our approach to managing risks
Risk management is woven into every stage of the program process: pre-departure, in-country and on return
At every stage of your journey, we prioritize safety, wellbeing, and smooth integration into our internship experience.
Â
Visa & Pre-Departure Preparation
We closely monitor visa regulations, consulting trusted sources such as the Australian Embassy, local legal experts, and our in-country partners. As visa rules can change without notice, we provide up-to-date guidance directly to students.
Â
During the placement process, we conduct interviews to identify any potential concerns and discuss them with students. Additional information or follow-up discussions may be required in some cases.
Â
Our pre-departure support includes:
- Health and safety briefings including mental health support
- Cultural preparation and practical travel tips
- Opportunities to meet fellow students and our Australia/Indonesia support team
- Make new friends and build professional networks
Â
All students must complete a medical information form before departure, covering past and present health conditions, including mental health history, to ensure appropriate support is in place.
Â
In-Country Support & Orientation
Once in Indonesia, our orientation sessions help students settle in by:
- Reinforcing key cultural and work-related insights
- Providing practical guidance for everyday tasks like transportation, food and laundry
- Introducing local student buddies for peer support and a warm welcome
Â
We conduct regular check-ins and debriefings to ensure students feel supported both professionally and socially. Mental health is a key priority and our program leader is available 24/7 for any concerns or emergencies.
Â
Emergency Preparedness
In the event of a crisis such as a natural disaster or security incident, we have detailed and tested emergency plans in place.
Â
We maintain close contact with the Australian embassy and ensure:
- Students contact their families first, followed by their institutions
- Institutions receive timely updates on student wellbeing

Post-Program Reflection and Support
Our support doesn’t end when the program does. We offer follow-up conversations to help students reflect on their experience, translate their skills into career opportunities, and stay connected with our professional networks. We also provide guidance on leveraging their internship for future job applications, further study, and professional growth.
