Yayasan Lembaga Bantuan Hukum Indonesia (YLBHI) is devoted to creating a transparent and fair legal system for all Indonesians. It pursues this objective by providing legal services to people that could not access them otherwise and by trying to create public awareness of important issues. The mission of YLBHI is to strengthen democracy in Indonesia, a fundamental part of which is to establish and promote independence and empower the marginalized people. YLBHI is working toward achieving this mission by working with Indonesians on a case by case basis, educating the people, working toward legal reform, network development and campaigning to inform the wider community.
Your Role:
You will spend time in the field, visiting clients of LBH, and will also help in the office with behind the scenes work for either current cases or other work being done by LBH.
Requirements:
Majors: Law or criminology
Language: good Indonesian language skills are required to get the most out of the experience.
Other: An ability to show initiative, work hard and be enthusiastic, along with an interest in helping those less fortunate, is essential.
