Blue Ocean Network (BON TV) is proudly known as China's first privately owned and independent broadcasting channel. It operates as a pay TV network in both China, the U.S.A and many other nations globally, thus having a huge audience. The network is predominantly focused around Chinese news, culture and traditions, but has global interests in terms of business, travel and talk-shows. BON uniquely uses Western-style media and reporting techniques, and the network aims to go beyond simply news and entertainment - offering a reputable online resource archive, and practical learning programs in anything from Mandarin cooking classes through to insights into Chinese politics and art. Lastly, the channel's status as a privately owned network in China gives it a huge advantage over all others - it offers new and independent ideas in China's heavily censored media landscape.
Your Role:
BON TV requires an English speaking intern to perform the following duties:
- Hosting 'The English Show'. This program is predominantly focused around Chinese tradition, cultures and particularly useful for foreigners planning to travel in China.
- Other duties may be specified after application is confirmed.
Requirements:
Majors: Media experience and a strong writing background is preferred but not necessary.
Language: English as a first language only
Other: Ability to show initiative, work hard and be enthusiastic is essential. A passion for media and an interest in Chinese culture will allow you to get the most out of this opportunity!
