Research & Advocacy Intern

This Indonesian not-for-profit research and advocacy organisation is based in Jakarta, with branches across 17 provinces in Indonesia. Their focus areas are: social accountability for public services; public finance; and transparency. The organisation conducts research, holds workshops and training sessions, provides assistance to communities, and develops models to help improve the quality of public service management across Indonesia.

Notable areas of current work include: how villagers are adapting to climate change; raising awareness of community rights; advocating for evidence-based policy-making; and gender issues.

Your Role:

As a Research Intern, you are expected to assist the team on a topic assigned to you. Your key tasks may involve, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting desk research and providing research briefs, with focus on specific areas in consultation with the team
  • Supporting and conducting knowledge management tasks
  • Working in Communications and PR, which may involve writing articles about their work or achievements, and other work involving the website, social media and more
  • Engaging in language teaching and learning exchange by spending time helping the staff to improve their English
