Microfinance NGO

Financial Development

This Indonesian foundation is focused on the development of the microfinance sector in rural Indonesia. Its headquarters are located in Jakarta.

The NGO’s mission is to build the institutional strength and outreach of the Indonesian microfinance sector. They do this by providing high-quality, best-practice technical inputs and support to all industry stakeholders in a sustainable and demand-driven manner.

Your Role

As an intern, your main tasks will depend on your level of knowledge of the Indonesian language. Because donors are generally international, reports and websites will mainly be in English. In the Financial Development division you can expect to be involved in:

  • Filing documents such as disbursement vouchers, bank receipts, invoices and more.
  • Using MYOB (Accounting Software).
  • Writing reports, newsletters and more for donors.
  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations for meetings.
  • Visiting factory workers.
  • Data entry.

For those interns with Indonesian language capabilities there is potential to for more complex involvement. These may include field assessments, which form a large part of the NGO’s work.


Majors: Economics, Accounting, Banking abd related areas.
Language: Fluent English is required. Some Indonesian skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
Other: Ideal candidates will have an interest in microfinance and an eagerness to learn about Indonesian society and culture.
