Social Development

This Indonesian foundation is focused on the development of the microfinance sector in rural Indonesia. Its headquarters are located in Jakarta.

The NGO’s mission is to build the institutional strength and outreach of the Indonesian microfinance sector. They do this by providing high-quality, best-practice technical inputs and support to all industry stakeholders in a sustainable and demand-driven manner.

Your Role

As an intern, your main tasks will depend on your level of Indonesian language. However, because donors are generally international, reports and websites will mainly be in English. In the Social Development division you can expect to be involved in:

  • Showing donors the impact of their work and why they should continue to invest.
  • Undertaking social research for impact measurement.
  • Writing reports, newsletters and more for the organisation, general public and donors.
  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations for meetings.
  • Visiting factory workers.
  • Data entry.


Majors: Economics, Social Studies, International Studies, Public Relations, and related areas.
Language: Fluent English is required. Indonesian skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
