English Language School
This young school prides itself on its very low student-teacher ratios, with close attention to each student in the school to give them an education tailored to their specific needs. Students vary in age from kinder up to 16 years old and, as such, classes often have a fairly broad mix of ages.
The teachers at the school are a mix of expatriates and domestic staff, but all classes are taught in English. The curriculum follows that of New South Wales for Primary Years and the Cambridge International General Certificate Secondary Education for Secondary Years.
The school also hopes to foster a sense of community, both within the school and in the Jogjakarta region. It draws on many resources for learning and knowledge from other organisations within the community, including International Internships’ partner university, the Islamic University of Indonesia. They also seek to contribute to the community through initiatives such as a development program for local teachers.
