Conservation and Environmental Advocacy NGO

Communications and Research

This NGO is an independent non-profit organisation working in biodiversity conservation and biological resource management.

The organisation has set up its programs to focus on how Indonesians and foreigners can intervene in three main endangered ecosystems to reduce the impact of environmental crises and food and water insecurity. These three ecosystems are the Agricultural Ecosystem, the Forestry Ecosystem, and the Coastal and Small Islands Ecosystem.

The organisation works closely with other NGOs, local community groups, regional and central governments, universities, research institutions, and the private sector.

Your Role

Your work will be geared towards building programs and raising awareness of environmental issues. This will likely include the following:

  • Researching and developing project proposals for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Writing articles and blogs.
  • Creating social media content.
  • Supporting events.
  • Researching environmental practices in other countries, comparing and contrasting them with those in Indonesia.

Requirements

Majors: Ideal candidates would have studied/ be currently studying Environment, Public Policy, Journalism or International Relations but there is scope to accept other majors.
Language: Fluent English is required. Some Indonesian skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
Other: The ability to show initiative, work hard and be enthusiastic is essential. A passion for the environment and public advocacy will allow you to get the most out of this internship position.
